All website hosting accounts are handled via a Control Panel and whatever the brand of the latter, there is always a File Manager tool, which lets you browse the files that you've uploaded in the Internet hosting account and to perform basic operations with them, including moving, copying or deleting. Depending on the particular tool, there can be more advanced functions also, including control over permissions and archives. Some Control Panels are simpler to work with compared to others and so are their File Manager sections. As that is the primary tool that you'll employ to control your files, it is crucial to check in advance what options it includes and if it will work for you, because a hard-to-use File Manager may be a burden and will make managing your web presence more challenging.

File Manager in Cloud Hosting

The File Manager tool, which is part of our in-house developed Hepsia CP, allows you to administer all of the files you upload to your cloud hosting account without any difficulty. You'll be able to move files and entire folders by dragging-and-dropping them inside the account. You could upload content in the same way - select a file/folder on your computer system and drag it to your Internet browser in which the File Manager is loaded. By right-clicking a file or a folder within your account, you can also access context menus with more advanced options - you will be able to create or to unpack an archive, to create a password-protected area, to alter the UNIX permissions via a web interface or to modify the content with a variety of editors without ever leaving the CP – a code editor, an HTML editor or a plain text editor. We have also provided help articles and educational videos, that you can access right from the File Manager to learn more about its capabilities.

File Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Our File Manager tool will allow you to do virtually anything you want. It is an element of the Hepsia CP, included with all semi-dedicated server accounts and besides the regular features like renaming, copying or deleting files, you'll be able to use right-click menus in order to access more complex ones. With a few clicks, you will be able to password-protect any folder in the account, to edit the UNIX permissions in case a script-based app needs it or to change the content of any file using code, plain text and WYSIWYG editors. Also, you shall no longer need an FTP program to upload new content as you can just drag-and-drop files and entire folders from your computer directly to the File Manager. The tool shall do the rest, preserving the folder structure of the content you upload.
