A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a spelling mistake. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited bulk messages, but this issue can be solved using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also crucial to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward incoming emails to a 3rd-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

In case you have a Linux cloud hosting with our company and you’d like to enable the catch-all feature for a certain e-mailbox that you’ve got in the web hosting account, it will take literally only a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to accomplish this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have created under any domain hosted in the account. You can pick one email address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all email messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button again will disable the catch-all feature. If you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will show a warning note and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The in-house built Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each semi-dedicated server plan that we’re offering will allow you to set up a catch-all e-mailbox with ease even in case you do not have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be next to each mailbox that you’ve created with your domain names in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will warn you if you have already created a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding activated. In case you reach the decision that you don’t need the feature anymore, you can deactivate it by clicking once again on the very same icon. The Email Manager will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
